FM Muhriddin Receives the Regional Director of the UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS

DUSHANBE, 23.06.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin received the UN Assistant Secretary-General, UNDP Assistant Administrator and Regional Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS Mirjana Spoljaric Egger.
The meeting focused on the issues and prospects of further cooperation between Tajikistan and UNDP.
The parties highly appreciated constructive collaboration in many areas of development, including sustainable economic development and environmental sustainability.
Muhrridin also drew the attention to the efforts and initiatives of the government of Tajikistan in the field of water resources and noted the importance of discussing issues related to the consequences of climate change and the need to protect glaciers, as well as the importance of strengthening cooperation within the framework of the Dushanbe Water Process.
In turn, Egger expressed interest in developing cooperation and holding joint events on issues of mutual interest.
