Tajikistan and Iran Intend to Strengthen Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation
DUSHANBE, 05.08.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, as part of his official visit to Tehran, Representatives Assembly Speaker Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda met with the Chairman of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
Zokirzoda noted that to date, more than 160 important interstate documents have been signed between Tajikistan and Iran, which coordinate relations between the countries and determine their prospects.
He added that Representatives Assembly and Islamic Consultative Assembly have strengthened the contractual and legal basis of bilateral cooperation by signing a Memorandum on Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation in 2011.
«Today we can strengthen our cooperation through the exchange of inter-parliamentary delegations and the study of each other’s best practices in the legal system and informatization,” Zokirzoda said.
Ghalibaf noted the desirability of strengthening cooperation between the two countries by activating joint friendship groups.
