Tajikistan Textile Exports Reach $111 Million

DUSHANBE, 11.08.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Cotton fiber makes up the bulk of export section of Tajikistan’s textile materials. The amount of export of textile materials for the first half of this year increased 1.5 times.
Statistical data on the export of these products indicate that about 70% of this amount is sold abroad as raw cotton fiber.
In January-June of this year, the amount of exports of textile materials and products from them amounted to over $110.9 million. Over $74.2 million of this amount is the proceeds from the sale of cotton fiber with a 1.6 fold increase.
Also, the amount of imports of textile materials and products for this period amounted to more than $42.9 million with an increase of 27%. The import of finished textile products is carried out with high added value.
