Tajikistan and Ukraine Hold Meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission

DUSHANBE, 29.10.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – On October 27 via video conference, Tajikistan and Ukraine held a meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, reported the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
The Tajik delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Chairman of the Tajik side of the Commission Rukhshona Nasriddinzodam, while the Ukrainian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Economy — Trade Representative, Chairman of the Ukrainian side of the Commission Taras Kachka.
The parties exchanged views on priority areas of bilateral cooperation. Nasriddinzoda stressed that the strengthening of mutually beneficial trade and economic relations with Ukraine is an important task for Tajikistan.
In this regard, she proposed to expand the list of reciprocal shipments of industrial products, including agricultural products from Tajikistan to Ukraine.
Also, the parties paid special attention to the establishment of joint industrial enterprises in the free economic zones of Tajikistan and participation in joint projects for the construction of hydropower plants.
They also noted the importance of continuing work to create favorable conditions for the development of transit capacity of both countries, and discussed the resumption of direct passenger flights on Kiev-Dushanbe-Kiev route.
The responsible persons were also instructed to continue mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of education, tourism, and culture.
