Bokhtar Holds Consultation on Community-based Tourism as a Priority for Sector Development in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 12.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Bokhtar hosted training consultations entitled «Community-based Tourism* as a Priority Area for Tourism Development in Tajikistan.»
The meeting was initiated by the Department of Tourism Development of Khatlon, and was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Committee for Tourism Development, and other professionals.
Participating online, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Ashurboy Solehzoda spoke about the existing opportunities for tourism, trade and promotion of folk traditions and crafts.
Participants asked questions and suggested methods on improving community-based tourism.
* Community-based Tourism (CBT) is the practice of providing economical tourism services of natural origin using local accommodation, food, music, art, souvenirs and traditions. CBT is an excellent and valuable travel experience that supports rational and sustainable development.
