Dushanbe and Warsaw Discuss Trade and Economic Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 26.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The business forum of Tajik and Polish entrepreneurs, organized by the Embassy of Tajikistan in Poland in collaboration with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries, was held yesterday via videoconference.
The Ambassador of Tajikistan to Poland Sohibnazar Gayratsho noted the importance of the participation of Polish companies in the process of achieving the fourth strategic goal of the country and diversifying Tajikistan’s trade.
He also stressed that the early accession of the country to the European Generalized System of Preferences is an important basis for the growth of trade between Tajikistan and the EU.
Ambassador called on the Polish business community to take advantage of the existing favorable conditions and invest in hydropower and other renewable energy projects in order to develop a “green economy” and protect the environment.
In their speeches, representatives of ministries, departments of Tajikistan and domestic companies acquainted the participants with the economic potential of the country and a favorable investment climate.
The forum was attended by representatives of more than 50 Polish companies.
The business circles of the two countries expressed their readiness to hold a forum of entrepreneurs as part of the next meeting of the Tajik-Polish intergovernmental commission in 2022.
