FM Muhriddin: EU Is One of Tajikistan’s Important Partners in the International Arena

DUSHANBE, 23.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell who is in Tajikistan on an official visit.
The meeting focused on the development of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the EU and their prospects in the political, economic, security, environment, as well as in humanitarian areas.
The parties also had a constructive dialogue related to security and stability in the region, especially with regards to the situation in Afghanistan, threats of terrorism and extremism, matters in the international agenda, as well as other topics of mutual interest.

At a press conference following the meeting, Muhriddin said that the EU is one of Tajikistan’s important partners and Borrell’s visit is a clear sign of the parties’ interest in continuing fruitful and multifaceted cooperation.

Yesterday, Dushanbe hosted the meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries of Central Asia and the European Union.
