New Tajik Ambassador to UK Meets Minister of State for South Asia and the Commonwealth

DUSHANBE, 31.01.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On January 27, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Rukhshona Emomali met with the British Minister of State for South Asia and the Commonwealth, Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon.
The meeting focused on a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the UK.
They touched upon topical issues in the regional and international agenda.
The Minister of State wished success to Ambassador Rukhshona Emomali in her work.
“Delighted to have met Rukhshona Emomali, Tajikistan’s first female Ambassador and to discuss regional stability, climate, economic development, and human rights. As we mark 30 years of diplomatic relations, I look forward to working together to build our relations further,” wrote Lord Tariq Ahmad following the meeting.
By a presidential decree dated December 15, 2021, Rukhshona Emomali was appointed Ambassador of Tajikistan to the United Kingdom. Previously, she worked as the head of the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
