DUSHANBE, 02.02.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Despite the adoption of the order on October 22, 2021 by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, according to which Tajik citizens get the opportunity to enter Kyrgyzstan for study or work, the Tajik side records facts of biased attitude towards Tajik citizens in Kyrgyzstan, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
Higher educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan continue the practice of artificially delaying the process of returning the documentation of Tajik students, creating obstacles when Tajik students apply for the necessary documentation for transfers to educational organizations in Tajikistan.
Also, the return of documentation is often dependent on the obligatory payment for the full academic year, which is often not provided for by the current contracts of Tajik students with educational organizations in Kyrgyzstan.
The facts of detention by the Kyrgyz departments of Tajik students at the checkpoints of the state border are recorded.
In view of the above, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs appeals to Tajik citizens who are studying and working in educational organizations in Kyrgyzstan with an urgent request to refrain from traveling to this country.
Also, it reminds all Tajik citizens that due to the adoption by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Decree No. 12-r dated May 21, 2021 by the Kyrgyz Republic without prior notification, the entry of Tajik citizens into Kyrgyzstan or their transit to other countries through Kyrgyzstan is still prohibited.
