Use of Electronic Technologies in Business Development Discussed in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 04.02.2022 (NIAT Khovar) — On February 2, the Conference “E-Tech Opportunities for Business Development” was held at the initiative of the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management of Tajikistan in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Consultative Council for Improvement of Investment Climate.
Foreign investors, entrepreneurs, representatives of domestic and foreign companies, scientists, experts, associations and development partners, relevant ministries and agencies attended the event.
During her opening remarks, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management Khursheda Kodir noted that President Emomali Rahmon stressed the issue of strengthening the digitization of the national economy and formation of its technological base.
She noted that the necessary measures aimed at developing the e-commerce sector and reforms in other fields are being implemented, and this process is successfully continuing.
The number of private companies providing online services has significantly increased, especially during the pandemic period, and e-commerce has gained an important and stable position.
Also, the private sector and development partners stated that the implementation of additional measures aimed at improving the legal framework and requirements related to e-commerce activities is crucial.
In accordance with the protocol instructions of the 21st session of the Consultative Council for Improvement of Investment Climate, an analysis of e-commerce development is being designed and the results of the analysis with comprehensive recommendations will be submitted in the next session of the Consultative Council.
In this regard, the participants were invited to submit their recommendations on ways to improve the business climate in the e-commerce sector.
According to the conference agenda, the Economic Consultant of Secretariat of the Consultative Council for Improvement of Investment Climate, Director of the National Center for Legislation, Chairman of the Electronic Commerce Association, Deputy Head of Legislation Improvement Department of the Tax Committee, and the CEOs of a number companies doing online business delivered speeches and presentations.
They mentioned the draft law of Tajikistan on e-commerce, increasing the share of non-cash payments between buyers and sellers in the consumer market, providing quality services using digital technologies, development of websites aimed at improving the e-commerce sector, ssues regarding the importance of information intermediaries on e-commerce introduction in Tajikistan,delivery via e-business introduction, building a materials and household products marketplace, tax reforms, and incentives for e-business development.
