Central Asian Countries Discuss Tourism Potential

DUSHANBE, 14.03.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Prospects for the development of regional cooperation in the field of tourism in order to further expand mutually beneficial relations were discussed at the next round of meetings of the heads of tourism authorities of the Central Asian countries, which was held in a virtual format.
The participants were introduced to the tourism potential of the countries of Central Asia.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of Tajikistan Kamoliddin Muminzod, who noted that the development of tourism is of particular importance for Tajikistan, and the creation of the necessary tourism infrastructure and bringing it in line with international standards is a priority in the policy of the government.
“Today, along with important global issues in the field of tourism, the position of Tajikistan is being strengthened thanks to the international initiatives President Emomali Rahmon, our country occupies a special place in world rankings,” he added.
At present, cooperation between the travel agencies of Tajikistan and the countries of Central Asia is being established at the required level, and regional routes are also being implemented.
This factor allows foreign tourists to visit several countries on the Silk Road route at the same time during their travels in Central Asia. One of the most important points for foreign tourists is visiting the Central Asian Silk Road. The ancient cities and picturesque landscapes of Central Asia, located on this famous historical route, always attract a large number of tourists.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Nursekhet Sharimov, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Investments of the Committee for Tourism Industry of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan Miras Tulebaev, Head of the Department of International Relations and Grant Attraction of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Uzbekistan Firuz Dodiev, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Kiyalva Kenzhematova and heads of domestic travel agencies.
The first meeting of the heads of tourism authorities of the countries of Central Asia took place in March 2021 with the participation of heads and representatives of the tourism authorities, regional tourism associations and organizations.
