Tajik Delegation Attends Meetings of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity

DUSHANBE, 29.03.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Officials of the Committee for Environmental Protection of Tajikistan attended the 24th meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Issues, the 3rd meeting of the Subsidiary Body for the Implementation of the Convention, and the Working Group of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, which took place from March 14 through March 29 in Geneva.
The meetings focused on the monitoring process within the framework of the post-2020 initiative for the protection of marine and coastal biodiversity, biodiversity and agriculture, biodiversity and health, invasive species (a species whose distribution threatens biological diversity).
Participants also discussed issues related to synthetic biology, risk assessment, and management of genetically modified organisms, as well as the work program of the Intergovernmental Science Policy Platform on Biological Diversity and Ecosystem Services.
