Volume of Cargo Transportation in Tajikistan Increases by 10.3%

DUSHANBE, 28.03.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – More than 1.4 million tons of cargo has been transported by all modes of transport in Tajikistan in the first two months of this year, which is 10.3% more than the same period last year, reports Avesta news agency with reference to the Agency on Statistics.
Land transport occupies a main place in the transportation of goods, the share of which is almost 100% of the total volume of transportation, by all modes of transport.
During the reporting period, more than 1.3 million tons of cargo has been transported by road.
The growth in the volume of cargo transportation by road has increased by 10.2% compared to the same period last year.
Over 931,000 tons of cargo has been transported by rail, which is 13.1% more than in the same period last year.
Thus, the share of road transport accounts for 93.5% of the total volume of goods transported by all modes of transport.
