Emomali Rahmon Receives Chairman of Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev

DUSHANBE, 13.05.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Chairman of the Senate of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev today.
Maulen Ashimbayev arrived in Tajikistan by the invitation of the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali.
The meeting took place in the Palace of Nation.
The discussion focused on a wide range of issues of cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, President Rahmon noted that the development of strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan is a priority in the foreign policy of Tajikistan and is based on long-standing tradition of friendship, mutual understanding and mutual support.
The officials expressed their satisfaction over the relations between the two countries, in particular, the reliable dialogue at the summit level and constructive cooperation.
The officials continued their exchange of views on further expansion of bilateral cooperation in political, trade, as well as economic and inter-parliamentary ties.
Kazakhstan is one of Tajikistan’s main trading partners, and last year the trade turnover between the countries had increased by almost 30%, reaching more than $1 billion.
The sides also reaffirmed their willingness to strengthen cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian and educational spheres. During the discussion of regional and international issues, special attention was paid to the situation linked with Afghanistan.
