President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan Meets President of the Asian Football Confederation

DUSHANBE, 06.05.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan (FFT) and the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Rustam Emomali met with the President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa.
The meeting focused on the prospects of further cooperation, in particular the current and future development of football in Tajikistan, as well as in the Central Asian region.
“I want thank the AFC for the implementation of a number of projects in Tajikistan. AFC plays an important role in the development of football, both in Tajikistan and in the whole Central Asian region. During the pandemic, Tajikistan has become a football center and in recent years we have successfully held a number of tournaments both under the auspices of AFC and CAFA. We are always ready to support any AFC initiatives aimed at the development of football in our region,” said Rustam Emomali.
AFC President thanked Rustam Emomali for the warm welcome and all-round support for Asian football.
“This is my first visit to Tajikistan after the pandemic and I want to thank you for the comprehensive support you provide to the development of football in the region. We are grateful to the FFT, which during the pandemic last year hosted four groups of qualifying tournaments for the 2022 Asian Cup among women’s and youth teams (U-23). We are glad that, despite the pandemic, the tournaments of the CAFA are being held in Dushanbe and are always ready to support you. The AFC is proud of what the FFT has achieved in the Central Asian region in recent years. We are pleased with the fruitful work of the CAFA,” said AFC President Al-Khalifa.
