Tajik athlete Mirzorajabov Wins Silver Medal at the International Tournament in Kazakhstan

DUSHANBE, 06.05.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik athlete Firuz Mirzorajabov won a silver medal at the U-20 International Greco-Roman Wrestling Tournament in Memory of Zhaksilik Ushkempirov, which was held in Nursultan, Kazakhstan, reports the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan.
More than 300 athletes from different regions of Kazakhstan, as well as athletes from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Iran took part in the tournament.
Mirzorajabov defeated his opponents in three rounds, but lost to an athlete from the host country in the final and won the silver medal.
Four more Tajik athletes Siyovush Achilov (63 kg), Sheroz Ochilov (72 kg), Sulton Saidzoda (72 kg), and Ruslanjon Rustamjon (82 kg) lost to their rivals in the preliminary rounds.
As part of the tournament, training courses of the World Wrestling Union (WWU) for judges were also organized, which included F. Rahmonov and D. Alanazarov. According to their results, the participants will be awarded certificates of an international level judge.
