Expansion of Cooperation Between Tajikistan and UN Agencies Discussed in Vienna

DUSHANBE, 06.07.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 4, as part of the political consultations Tajikistan and Austria, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Farhod Salim met with Managing Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Fatou Haidara.
The meeting focused on the process of implementation of ongoing projects in the country, and the possibility of expanding these relations.
The parties also expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between Tajikistan and the UNIDO.
Salim also met met with the Director of the Division for Operations at the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Miwa Kato.
The parties discussed issues of strengthening cooperation between Tajikistan and UNODC in the field of combating drug trafficking, the participation of relevant UN organizations in the process of implementing Tajikistan’s international initiatives, as well as expanding cooperation within regional organizations.
