Tajikistan, Netherlands and Egypt Organize Geneva Water Dialogue

DUSHANBE, 04.07.2022 (NIAT Khovar) — On July 1, the first Geneva Water Dialogue co-organized by the Permanent Missions of Netherlands, Tajikistan and Egypt took place in Geneva, Switzerland.
The event was supported by the WMO, UN-Water, UNDRR, OHCHR, and the Geneva Water Hub, and attended by heads and representatives of diplomatic missions, as well as high level representatives of UN system organizations.
The main objective of the first ever Geneva Water Dialogue is to prepare a substantive input from Geneva-based organizations and missions to the UN 2023 Water Conference, as well as to identify and propose concrete solutions to accelerate the achievement of SDG 6, also beyond 2030.
Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva Jamshed Hamidov delivered welcoming remarks to the participants in thel opening segment of the event.
Participants were provided with information about the High-level Conference on Water, which was held in Dushanbe from June 6 through June 9 this year.
