Tajik Athlete Nurali Emomali Becomes World Youth Judo Champion
DUSHANBE, 11.08.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On the first day of the World Youth Judo Championship in Guayaquil of Ecuador), Tajik athlete Nurali Emomali in the 66 kg category won the gold medal.
In the road to final he beat Italian wrestler Valerio Accoli, French judoka Maxime Mundanga, athlete from Turkiye Muhammad Demirel and Moldovan Izvoreanu Radu.
In the final, Nurali fought against judoka from Uzbekistan, the current champion of Asia among youth Azizbek Ortikov and beat him.
Along with gold medal, Nurali received 700 points and a cash prize of $2,000.
Currently, in the history of Tajik judo, this is the second gold medal of the World Youth Championship. Somon Mahmadbekov won the first gold medal in the category -73 kg in October 2019 at the World Championships in Morocco.
