Over 60% of Tajikistan’s Trade Turnover Is with SCO Countries

DUSHANBE, 29.09.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 28, 2022, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqi Zavqizoda participated in the 21st session of ministers of SCO member states responsible for foreign economic and trade activities via video link.
They discussed the current state of trade-economic and investment cooperation within the SCO and prospects for its further development, including liberalization and simplification of trade and investment procedures, multilateral trade systems, continuity of production and supply, digital economy, and regional trade.
Zavqizoda noted that the foreign trade turnover between Tajikistan and SCO member nations in the first six months of 2022 reached 68%.
“More than 60% of Tajikistan’s trade turnover is with SCO countries, and they are one of Tajikistan’s biggest trade partners,” he added.
A memorandum on strengthening cooperation in the field of supply chains was signed between the ministries and agencies responsible for foreign economic and foreign trade activities.
