DUSHANBE, 15.12.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) launched a project on gender financial inclusion, which will be implemented through the signing of an agreement between both banks on the project “Support for NBT membership in the Financial Inclusion Alliance (FIA).”
The signing of this agreement will create a favorable framework for greater financial inclusion and ensuring gender equality in accordance with the National Financial Inclusion Strategy of Tajikistan for 2022-2026.
Additionally, several activities are planned under the program to implement the financial inclusion policy. This step will contribute to the implementation of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy. This initiative is also in line with the National Bank’s financial coverage commitments under the Denarau Alliance Action Plan.
This document guides member countries to take the necessary action on gender issues within the framework of the activities of financial sector regulators and their politicians.
The NBT has been a full member of the Financial Inclusion Alliance since December 7, 2011, and the activities of the FIA are aimed at promoting financial integration policies in member countries.
