Foreign Investment Inflow to Tajikistan Increased by 1.9%

DUSHANBE, 14.02.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – In 2022, compared to 2021, Tajikistan received 1.9 times more foreign direct investment. In this regard, the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management informs about the signing of more than a hundred cooperation documents for the previous year for a total of 32 billion somoni.
Chairman of the Committee Sadi Kodirzoda said at a press conference today that acts of cooperation were agreed within the framework of business and investment forums held with investment and business circles of foreign states, including Egypt, Belgium, China, Turkiye, Uzbekistan, Korea, Russia, Belarus, America, and Saudi Arabia.
He also added that regional forums were held in Sughd, Khatlon and GBAO.
Regarding public investment, Kodirzoda added that during this period, 72 state investment projects were implemented for a total of 40 billion somoni, and the disbursement of funds is 5.3 billion somoni.
It was noted that in order to implement priority state investment projects in key areas of the country’s economy, new agreements were signed with development partners in the amount of more than 7 billion somoni, equivalent to $717.2 million, of which 93 percent are grant funds.
