Tajikistan Increases the Volume of Cargo Transportation by 10.8%

DUSHANBE, 17.04.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Compared to the same period in 2022, the volume of cargo transportation in Tajikistan increased by 10.8%, and passenger traffic — by 11.3%.
All modes of transport in Tajikistan transported over 23.3 million tons of cargo and more than 218.3 million passengers.
Until April 1, 2,328 economic entities functioned in the republic in various forms of ownership. During this period, 577,300 vehicles were registered, including 50,248 trucks, 15,587 passenger vehicles, 507,661 private vehicles, 1,780 units of special vehicles and 2,036 motorcycles.
Depending on the climatic conditions and geographical location of the country, road transport is of great importance, which accounts for more than 93.1% of freight traffic and 96.5% of passenger traffic.
