DUSHANBE, 11.04.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The Video Assistance to Referees (VAR) system will be introduced in Tajikistan starting from the second half of the national championship among top league football clubs.
The introduction of the VAR system, which was planned starting with the 2023 Tajikistan Super Cup match, is being delayed due to equipment delivery delays. The equipment manufacturer for Tajikistan is Slomo.tv, which has a FIFA license.
The necessary equipment has already been purchased, but there is a delay from suppliers. The expected time of arrival of the VAR equipment is the beginning of May.
Due to the fact that the Department of Refereeing and Inspection of the Football Federation of Tajikistan has not yet completed the practical training of referees to use the VAR system, according to FIFA requirements, the use of the VAR system in Tajikistan has been postponed to the second half of the championship.
