DUSHANBE, 10.05.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – After the meeting and negotiations of the highest level of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, a signing ceremony of new documents of cooperation was held in the presence and with the participation of the heads of both states, Honorable Emomali Rahmon and Honorable Serdar Berdimuhamedow.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the President of Turkmenistan, Honorable Serdar Berdimuhamedow, signed the Declaration on deepening the strategic partnership between the Republic of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Then, before the Heads of State, 23 other documents were signed:

• Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of Turkmenistan on cooperation in the field of health;
• Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of Turkmenistan on cooperation in the field of ensuring international cyber security;
• Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of Turkmenistan on cooperation in the field of technical information protection;
• Protocol between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on mutual cooperation within international organizations;
• Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of Turkmenistan on cooperation in the field of plant quarantine;
• Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of Turkmenistan on cooperation in the veterinary field;
• «Roadmap» for expanding cooperation in the field of agriculture between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan for 2023-2025;
• Memorandum of understanding between the Department of Financial Monitoring under the National Bank of Tajikistan and the Financial Monitoring Service under the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan on cooperation in the field of combating the legalization (officialization) of proceeds of crime, financing terrorism and financing the distribution of weapons of mass destruction;
• Memorandum of understanding between the National Bank of Tajikistan and the Central Bank of Turkmenistan;
• Agreement between the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan on the organization of exchange of advance information on goods and means of transport transported through the customs border;
• Agreement between the Executive body of state authority of the Khatlon Province of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Authority of the Mary Region of Turkmenistan;
• Agreement between the Executive body of state authority of the Sughd Province of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Authority of the Balkan Region of Turkmenistan on cooperation in commercial-economic, scientific-technical and cultural-humanitarian areas;
• Program of joint activities («Roadmap») on the expansion of further cooperation in the field of increasing cargo flow and activation of multimodal transportation between the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Transport and Communication Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan for 2023-2025;
• Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan;
• Memorandum of understanding on commercial cooperation between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan;
• Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan on cooperation in the field of labor and employment;
• Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan and the «Turkmenavtoulaglary» Agency of the Transport and Communication Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on the development of international transport;
• Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics;
• Memorandum of understanding between the Service for State Safety Supervision in Industry and Mining under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Main State Service «Turkmenstandartlary»;
• Memorandum of understanding between the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Scientific Center for Strategic Research of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan;
• Memorandum on cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan;
• Memorandum of understanding between the National Information Agency of Tajikistan «Khovar» and the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan «TDH»;
• Memorandum of understanding on mutual cooperation between the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan.

After the ceremony of signing documents, the heads of state Emomali Rahmon and Serdar Berdimuhamedow held a press conference for a wide range of journalists on the high-level meeting and negotiations between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, during which they highly commended their outcomes.
