Tajikistan and Iran Discuss Tourism Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 02.05.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Representatives of the Embassy of Tajikistan in Iran took part in cultural events dedicated to the proclamation of the city of Ardabil as the tourist capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization region in 2023.
Tajik diplomats held meetings with the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Iran, the governor of Ardabil province and the mayor of the city of Ardabil.
The parties discussed issues of expanding cooperation in the field of tourism.
While emphasizing the importance of the historical and cultural community between the two states, they noted the need to establish relations between tourism organizations and communities of the two countries.
The Iranian side showed interest in the experience of Dushanbe, which was proclaimed the first tourist capital of the region by the Economic Cooperation Organization in 2021.
