Prospects for Trade and Economic Cooperation between the regions of Tajikistan and the Republic of Dagestan Discussed in Makhachkala

DUSHANBE, 01.06.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Prospects for trade and economic cooperation between the regions of Tajikistan and the Republic of Dagestan were discussed on May 30 in Makhachkala by the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Russia Davlatshoh Gulmahmadzoda and the Head of the Republic of Dagestan Sergey Melikov.
The parties exchanged views on the current state of interaction and prospects for trade and economic cooperation.
The meeting also focused on such areas as the economy, education and science, labor migration and agriculture. It was in particular noted the interest of business communities and farmers in the exchange of experience on agricultural issues.
The parties touched upon issues of strengthening cooperation in the spheres of culture, healthcare and tourism.
While having told in detail about the investment opportunities of Tajikistan, Ambassador invited Sergey Melikov and entrepreneurs of Dagestan to visit Tajikistan, as well as to take part in the 2023 Sughd IX International Trade Fair.
The Ambassador of Tajikistan to Russia also met with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Dagestan Badrutdin Magomedov.
The meeting focused on topical issues of developing trade and economic cooperation between the regions of Tajikistan and the Republic of Dagestan, including the participation of business circles in various international events in Tajikistan, in particular, in the the 2023 Sughd IX International Trade Fair.
While emphasizing the importance of increasing the pace of cooperation and increasing trade turnover, Gulmahmadzoda noted the interest in exporting agricultural and industrial products of Tajikistan to the Republic of Dagestan and called on the business community to actively cooperate.
