Tajik Delegation Attends the CSTO Ministerial Council Meeting

DUSHANBE, 21.06.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – From June 19 through June 20, in Minsk, the delegation of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin attended the inter-sessional meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO Ministerial Council), which was chaired by the Belarusian side.
The ministers in narrow and extended formats discussed the international and regional situation, its impact on the security of the member states.
The officials had an exchange of views on the issue of improving the crisis response mechanism and on the development of the Target Interstate Program of the Organization to strengthen sections of the Tajik-Afghan border.
Following the meeting, a number of decisions were signed, as well as Foreign Ministers Statement on the Afghan situation was adopted.
As part of the meeting, the ministers were received by the Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
The next CSTO Ministerial Council Meeting will be held in the fourth quarter of 2023 in Minsk on the eve of the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
