DUSHANBE, 11.07.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 12, in New York, within the framework of the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, a special event will be held at which the initiative of Tajikistan to establish a Regional Center for Transport Diplomacy in Dushanbe will be presented and considered. This was announced by the head of the delegation of Tajikistan at an informal meeting of leaders of the public and private sectors of the transport field, which was held from July 6 through July 7 in Tashkent.

According to him, the creation of this Regional Center will contribute to the development and implementation of plans, activities, programs and projects to ensure the Sustainable Development Goals in the field of transport. In this regard, the participants of the informal meeting in Tashkent were invited to take part in the event.

It should be noted that at the initiative of the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan and with the support of the countries of Central Asia, a draft agreement was developed and agreed between the states of Central Asia on the interconnection of surface transportation, the signing of which is scheduled within the framework of the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia on September 14-15 this year in Dushanbe.
