82 State Investment Projects Worth 49.1 Billion Somoni Are Being Implemented in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 14.08.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The State Committee for Investments and State Property Management of Tajikistan reports that this year 82 state investment projects are being implemented in the country for a total of 49.1 billion somoni, which is $4.50 billion.
Since the start of the implementation of state projects, a total of 21.3 billion somoni or $1.95 billion has been disbursed.
Along with this, during this period, more than 3.2 billion somoni or $298.7 million were disbursed within the framework of existing projects, which in general is 106 percent of the financial plan for the reporting period.
Out of this number, 17 projects worth 873.0 million somoni ($80.0 million) were implemented in the energy sector, 14 projects worth 1,315.1 million somoni ($120.5 million) in transport, and healthcare — 9 projects worth 260.0 million somoni ($23.8 million), housing and communal services — 13 projects worth 196.4 million somoni ($18.0 million), agriculture under 3 projects 88.4 million somoni ($8.1 million), ecology and emergency situations within 8 projects 81.0 million somoni ($7.4 million), education 6 projects worth 134.2 million somoni ($12.3 million), land reclamation/irrigation 4 projects 77.5 million somoni ($7.1 million), finance, tourism, etc. in the amount of 83 million somoni.
In order to implement state investment projects in priority areas of the country, new agreements were signed with development partners in the amount of more than 2.3 billion somoni, equivalent to $208.6 million, of which 99 percent are grant funds.
