DUSHANBE, 14.09.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 14, in the city residence of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Honorable Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in Tajikistan to take part in the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Meeting of the Council of the Heads of the Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.

During the meeting, crucial aspects of the cooperation of the parties within the framework of strategic partnership and alliance of the two countries, as well as issues introduced in the agenda of high-level events in the capital of Tajikistan — Dushanbe, were discussed.

The heads of state emphasized with satisfaction that the relations between our countries are developing at all levels and expressed confidence that the results of the upcoming meetings will effectively contribute to their further development.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening cooperation between the countries in the commercial, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres and other priority sectors.

Thanks were expressed to Uzbekistan for supporting the efforts of Tajikistan in the chairmanship of the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States and the Meeting of the Council of Heads of the Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.

The Presidents also exchanged views on specific regional and international topics.
