On October 18, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received the Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics of Iran Mohammad Reza Ashtiani in the Palace of the Nation.
During the meeting, issues of Tajik-Iranian relations with an emphasis on interaction between the two countries in the field of security were discussed.
Referring to growing modern challenges and threats, the parties emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and transnational organized crime.
Both sides spoke in favor of intensifying the activities of existing interaction mechanisms and implementation of the signed bilateral cooperation documents and agreements reached in this area.
