Tajik Side Invites UN Member States to Attend the Third International Dushanbe Water Conference

DUSHANBE, 12.10.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On October 10, the delegate of the Permanent Mission of Tajikistan to the UN Tahmina Hasanova took part and delivered a statement at the General discussion of the Second Committee of 78th session UN General Assembly, under Agenda item for Sustainable Development.
She drew the participant’s attention to Tajikistan’s initiatives for timely implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Agenda and highlighting the country’s priorities in the Second Committee.
Hasanova also noted about the global initiatives of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the field of water and climate, as well as the International Decade of Action «Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028» and proclamation of 2025 as the International Year of Glacier Preservation in order to achieve the goals and targets of the Agenda 2030.
In addition, UN member states were invited to actively participate in the third International Dushanbe Conference on the implementation of the Water Decade (June 2024).
