Tajik and Kazakh Foreign Ministers Hold Talks in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 25.01.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On January 25 in Dushanbe, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirodjiddin Muhriddin held talks with Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, who is in Tajikistan on an official visit.
The meeting focused on the current state and prospects of development of Tajik-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Foreign Ministers also exchanged views on regional security issues and cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international and regional organizations.
It was paid special attention to the implementation of agreements on enhancing trade, energy and investment cooperation reached at the highest level following the state visit of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to Kazakhstan in May 2023.
Minister agreed to continue to extend mutual support in promoting the initiatives of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan within the framework of the UN, SCO, CIS, CSTO, OSCE, the mechanism of Consultative meetings of the Head of Central Asian states and other multilateral structures.
Following the talks, a roadmap of the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to in 2024 was agreed upon.
