Number of Transit Flights in Tajikistan Increases by 10%

DUSHANBE, 01.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) — In 2023, Tajikistan and China signed a Cooperation Agreement between the regional centers of Dushanbe and Urumqi with the aim of opening a new route “Pamir — Agvut.” It was said yesterday by the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of Tajikistan Dilshod Safarzoda.
According to him, the signing ceremony took place in Dushanbe. In order to achieve and implement the initiative, meetings and negotiations were held at various levels. As a result of the signed agreement, the necessary equipment was purchased and installed.
“The enterprise served 51,530 aircraft, which is 5,068, or 11% more than the figure for the same period in 2022, the figure applies to all branches of the enterprise. Also, the main growth factors are considered to be the largest number of regular and transit flights operated by foreign and domestic airlines, as well as the opening of new flight routes through the airspace of Tajikistan. During the reportting period, the number of transit flights was 25,971, which is 2,360, or 10% more than in 2022 (2022 — 16,873),” noted Safarzoda.
He noted that along with the modernization of equipment and systems, the management of the enterprise is strengthening cooperation with neighboring countries within the framework of the strategic goals of the government, as evidenced by the signing of two important documents, in particular, the Agreement on bilateral cooperation and coordination between regional centers of Dushanbe and Tashkent and Agreement on bilateral cooperation and coordination between the regional centers of Dushanbe and Samarkand, which help strengthen the potential of the country’s airspace, ensure flight safety, increase transit flights and expand interstate cooperation.
