The Head of State Emomali Rahmon was informed that after the renovation and expansion of this substation, the electricity produced by Rogun HPP will be transferred and connected to the unified energy system of the country through the 220-kV power line from the 220-kV closed gas-insulated switchgear system of Rogun HPP to the open distribution device of the 220/110/35/10-kV «Rogun» electrical substation, thereby increasing the reliability of the country’s energy system.
The 220/110/35/10-kV electric substation of «Rogun» continuously supplies the residents of Rogun city, Rasht valley districts, Faizobod and partially Vahdat city with electricity.
New facilities of the industry were built with high quality and in line with international standards to welcome the 35th anniversary of the State Independence with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in cooperation with development partners for a total amount of 11 mln. USD.
This substation was built in order to contribute to one of the strategic goals of achieving energy independence and contributing to the rapid industrialization of the country, as well as providing the population with electricity.
Year by year, with the increase of factories and industrial enterprises in the country, the number of users of electricity also increases. Taking all this into account, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan builds new substations and modernizes substations in need of repair in order to reduce the load on substations and to provide electricity in all seasons without problems.
The substation is designed to supply the population and industrial enterprises with electricity and is equipped with new equipment and technology. Substation devices are of high quality, imported and installed from leading countries of the world. 11 local residents have been employed in the newly built facility.
Construction work and installation of electrical equipment in the power system facility began in May 2022 and was completed in June 2024 in full compliance with modern requirements.
According to the project, 220/110/35/10-kV «Rogun» substation has 9 cells of 220-kV, immediate management building and auxiliary buildings are renovated.
Shady and decorative trees and colorful seasonal flowers have been planted in and around the electric substation, and its sidewalks are completely covered with asphalt.
