DUSHANBE, 10.07.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 10, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, during his working trip to the city of Konibodom, got acquainted with the progress of construction works on the Konibodom-Kuchkak highway.

It was reported that the implementation of the project «Improving regional and Central Asian communication routes, BRAMOM-4» started in March 2023, and works are smoothly carried out in 4 regions of the Sughd Province, including Kurush-Bekobod 12.3 kilometers, Dehmoy-Bobojon Ghafurov 22 kilometers, Bobojon Ghafurov-Khistevarz 6.6 kilometers and Konibodom-Kuchkak 10.3 kilometers, in total with a total length of 51.2 kilometers.

Taking into account the international importance of this road, it will be built on the basis of the first and third technical level of road construction. 11 bridges with a total length of 457.3 meters are planned to be renovated in 4 parts of Sughd regional highways.

The financier of the project is the International Development Association of the World Bank Group, and the customer is the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan. The construction of this road is undertaken by the «China Railway in Tajikistan-USZUY» Company.

Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon, while familiarizing himself with the modernization project, emphasized that this road is of great importance and lays an additional foundation for further raising the level of people’s well-being and the development of the country’s economy. Therefore, it was considered necessary to pay close attention to construction works and the use of quality products, so that the road will be built according to international standards and serve the people for many years.

It should be noted that years ago, the movement of any vehicles on this road was difficult. Now, after the complete modernization of the road, many years of problems of the population have been solved, thus the road and transport infrastructure will be significantly improved.

During the conversation, the President of the country instructed officials and road builders to carry out the construction works with high responsibility and high quality, and to make a suitable contribution to the prosperity and development of the country.

In turn, the road builders promised the Leader of the Nation that they will use all their skills to build this road, which is of national importance.
