DUSHANBE, 24.10.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On October 24, in the city of Kazan, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Honorable Rustam Minnikhanov on the sidelines of the «BRICS+» Summit.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome.

Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon emphasized that within the framework of strategic partnership and alliance with Russia, issues of cooperation with its regions, including Tatarstan, are in the focus of our constant attention.

It was emphasized that the share of Tatarstan in the total turnover of goods between Tajikistan and Russia is more than 50 million US dollars, and given the available opportunities, this indicator can be increased.

The parties discussed the situation and prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and the Republic of Tatarstan, paying special attention to the development and expansion of relations in the fields of trade, investment, metallurgy, mining, oil and gas, chemical, light and food industry, pharmaceuticals and construction.

It was considered necessary to expand cooperation in energy, agriculture and tourism, cultural and humanitarian relations, including in the field of education.

Also, a fruitful discussion was held on other issues of mutual interest.
