On October 17, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, received in the Palace of the Nation
the Minister of Culture of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani.
During the meeting, issues of development and strengthening of friendly and brotherly relations between Tajikistan and Qatar were discussed. President Emomali Rahmon mentioned the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries, which this year will mark its 30th anniversary, and called cultural relations one of the important aspects of cooperation.
The parties considered the holding of the days of Qatari culture in Tajikistan as a factor in strengthening the bonds of friendship. Establishing cooperation between educational and cultural research institutions, allocation of educational scholarships for students in educational institutions of the two countries and production of joint films were among the topics of conversation.
The parties also had a fruitful discussion on other issues of interest.
