DUSHANBE, 04.11.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On November 4, in the city of Al-Kuwait, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, on the sidelines of the High-Level International Conference “Strengthening International Counter – Terrorism Cooperation and Building Agile Border Security Mechanisms – The Kuwaiti Phase of the Dushanbe Process” met with the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, Honorable Vladimir Voronkov.
At the meeting, the issues of effective cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office, as well as the work process of the mentioned conference were discussed.
Much attention was paid to the escalation of threats and challenges to security and stability, including terrorism, extremism and other organized cross-border crimes related to these phenomena.
Both sides expressed their readiness to strengthen international and regional cooperation in the fight against these threats.
There was also an exchange of views on other topics related to ensuring security and stability in the region and the world.
