The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, on the sidelines of his visit to Kuwait and participation in the High-Level International Conference “Strengthening International Counter – Terrorism Cooperation and Building Agile Border Security Mechanisms – The Kuwaiti Phase of the Dushanbe Process” gave an interview to the Director General of of Kuwait News Agency Dr. Fatma Al-Salem.

During the conversation with the Kuwaiti journalist, the Head of our state expressed his opinion in detail about the current state and prospects of Tajikistan-Kuwait relations, the cooperation of the two countries in the framework of international and regional organizations, including the issues of combating terrorism and extremism and other threats and dangers of the modern world.

It was also mentioned that next year will mark 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and it was expressed confidence that the parties will celebrate this important date in the modern history of relations between the two countries with new achievements in the expansion and strengthening of their cooperation.

During the interview Honorable Emomali Rahmon expressed his satisfaction with the current process of expanding the partnership of the two countries in the political, trade and economic, investment and cultural and humanitarian spheres. Regarding cooperation between Tajikistan and Kuwait in the framework of international and regional organizations, it was noted that the International Conference on Strengthening International Counter – Terrorism Cooperation and Building Agile Border Security Mechanisms – The Kuwaiti Phase of the «Dushanbe Process on Combating Terrorism and its Financing» is a clear example of such cooperation between the two countries.

In the interview, topical issues of water and climate were also presented. The Leader of the Nation deliberated about Tajikistan’s global initiatives in the fields of water and climate and the pioneering position of our country in promoting the international agenda in this area.
