Dushanbe Hosts a Meeting of the Board of the National Commission of Tajikistan for UNESCO

DUSHANBE, 21.12.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On December 20, a meeting of the Board of the National Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan for UNESCO was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the National Commission for UNESCO Sirojiddin Muhriddin.
It was presented a report on the activities of the Commission for the 2024, as well as Action Plan for 2025.
Muhriddin during his speech noted that President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon pays special attention to the values acquired by Tajiks throughout the history and presenting it to the world community. In this regard, the National Commission in cooperation with relevant ministries and agencies has carried out a number of important activities during the period of 2024.
It should be noted that the National Commission is taking measures to further popularize and disseminate the unique national culture in the international arena.
Muhriddin emphasized that culture is the heritage of our ancestors and directs today’s generation to make efforts not only for its preservation, but also for its protection, development and promotion.
It was also noted about the works on preparation of nomination files for inscribing in the UNESCO registers.
Representatives of ministries and agencies of the country also made statements relating to the activities of the National Commission.
Following the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs presented a certificate of honor and a letter of gratitude to the Director of the National Library of Tajikistan Jumakhon Faizalizoda, the Director of the National Museum Zafarsho Ibrohimzoda and the Director of NIAT «Khovar» Subhiddin Shamsiddinzoda.
