Representatives of the Tajik-Iranian Private Sector Hold a Dialogue in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 16.01.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – There is a favorable opportunity between Tajikistan and Iran in the direction of attracting investments and expanding economic cooperation, the effective use of which meets the interests of both friendly states. It was noted at a joint meeting of economic activists of Tajikistan and Iran, which took place yesterday as part of the state visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian to Tajikistan.
The dialogue was attended by the heads and representatives of the relevant ministries and departments of Tajikistan and Iran, as well as business and commercial circles of both countries.
A video was shown about the potential and opportunities for entrepreneurship, investment and tourism in Tajikistan and Iran, as well as documents on cooperation between some enterprises and companies were signed.
Also, business and investment circles of Iran got acquainted with the activities of industrial enterprises of Tajikistan, such as Siyoma, Gayur technology park, Arvis textile enterprise.
The guests also visited the historical, cultural and tourist attractions of Dushanbe such as Kokhi Navruz, the National Museum and Istiklol Monument and got acquainted with the culture and civilization of the Tajiks and the development of the tourism sector in the capital.
According to the Agency on Statistics of Tajikistan, trade turnover between Tajikistan and Iran for January-November 2024 amounted to $336.8 million, an increase of $120.1 million, or 55%, compared to the same period in 2023. During this period, the volume of exports amounted to $104.1 million, and imports — $232.1 million.
Tajikistan and Iran have great resources and opportunities for developing their economic and trade relations, and with the wide use of these opportunities, they can further bring together and develop relations.
Today, Dushanbe will host the Tajik-Iranian Trade, Investment and Tourism Forum, which will be attended by a wide range of entrepreneurs and investors from both countries, who will discuss a range of issues related to strengthening trade and economic cooperation.
