DUSHANBE, 24.01.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On 22 January 2025, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UN, H.E. Mr. Jonibek Hikmat, and the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus to the UN, H.E. Ms. Maria Michai, met with the President of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Philemon Yang, reports Khovar, citing Tajik Permanent Representatives to the UN.
The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus to the UN were appointed as co-facilitators of the intergovernmental consultations of the High-Level Meeting on the progress achieved on the implementation of the Global Plan of Action to combat trafficking in person, by the President of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Philemon Yang.
Tajikistan and Cyprus, as co-facilitators of the aforementioned process, are mandated to lead intergovernmental consultations with Member States regarding the holding of a High-Level Meeting at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly and the adoption of a political declaration on the progress achieved on the implementation of the Global Plan of Action to combat trafficking in person
