Tajikistan plans to create logistics center for packaging and export of environmentally friendly agricultural products

DUSHANBE, 14.01.2025 /NIAT Khovar/. Tajik delegation headed by Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda took part in the consultative meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) held in Medina, Saudi Arabia.
The meeting aimed to consult on and propose a ten-year strategic framework for the IsDB Group, setting the direction for the next decade (2026-2035), as well as defining the long-term strategy of the Group alongside two consecutive five-year strategies that provide a detailed roadmap for the Bank.
During the meeting, the priority projects for the development of infrastructure in Tajikistan, including the creation of a logistics center for packaging and export of environmentally friendly agricultural products, were discussed.
It was noted that the IDB has financed a number of priority projects in such areas as energy, transport, education and health, made a significant contribution to achieving the strategic goals in Tajikistan.
The development of green economy, construction of new energy capacities, especially the Rogun project, creation of technology parks and e-commerce, ensuring food security and strengthening export potential, rehabilitation of irrigation systems and construction of sewerage in the Panj region, implementation of the second phase of the Guliston – Farkhor- Panj – Dusti Road reconstruction project, and of the Guliston-Kulyab highway project has been suggested.
On the sidelines of the event, Zavki Zavkizoda also met with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Dr. Mohammad Al-Jasser and expressed the need to significantly increase financing of priority projects.
Dr. Al-Jasser expressed readiness to further expand cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals and increase financing of Tajikistan’s priority projects.
It should be noted that to date, the IDB Group has invested more than 900 million dollars in the national economy of Tajikistan.
