DUSHANBE, 23.04.2025 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On April 22, on the margins of the spring metings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Hokim Kholikzod met with the World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani, reports the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan.
The parties discussed the implementation of existing projects and prospects for deepening cooperation in the field of economic reforms, public finance management, sustainable finance, digital economy, and energy sector.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the Development Policy Operation Program aimed at improving the investment climate, enhancing the effectiveness of financial management and strengthening macroeconomic instruments.
The importance of developing a new Country Partnership Framework (CPF) between the Republic of Tajikistan and the World Bank for the period of 2026-2030 was also emphasized. The strategy should be based on an in-depth analysis of opportunities and priorities, including job creation, human capital development, digitalization of the economy and climate change resilience.
Antonella Bassani confirmed the readiness of the World Bank to continue mutually beneficial cooperation with the Government of Tajikistan, promote the country’s integration into regional initiatives and develop new platforms for economic integration.
