On March 29, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, officially commissioned «Sughdmetal» LLC Pipe and Profile Production Plant in Bobojon Ghafurov district.

The plant was built with the participation of Tajik and Uzbek entrepreneurs Mullojon Mansurov and Farrukh Fakhriddinov. The establishment of the Sughdmetal metallurgical plant is the result of strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, which is expanding at the will of the heads of the two countries, based on intergovernmental agreements.

The President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, was informed that the metal processing plant was established at a cost of more than 500 million somoni of domestic and foreign investment, the construction of production facilities and infrastructure of the sector on an area of 6.5 hectares, where modern equipment and devices of European standards were imported and installed.

As it turned out, the newly established Sughdmetal enterprise produces metal pipes and profiles using advanced world technology.

The production process, from metal cutting, processing and production of pipes and profiles to packaging of products, is carried out on a set of equipment and devices manufactured by well-known European companies — Faspar, Otto, Mels, Filtra, MTS and Thermotu.

The enterprise has 2 technological equipment for the production of pipes and profiles from the Otto Mels company, which has a large production capacity. Each of these technological lines produces 160 meters of pipes and profiles per minute, and its annual capacity is 100 thousand tons of metal construction products.

The production process includes welding, diamond cutting, sawing and packaging of products.

Using modern technological equipment, 50 types of metal pipes and profiles are manufactured in accordance with quality and standards, depending on their size and dimensions.

According to the production and commercial plans, the enterprise will increase the volume and types of metal pipes and profiles in the future, studying the needs of the domestic market.

The founders and entrepreneurs of «Sughmetal» LLC plan to increase the volume of production by fully developing the domestic market and bring the number of employees to 300 people. At the same time, the enterprise has the opportunity to export products abroad.

The enterprise has created administrative buildings, a canteen, sanitary and hygienic points, recreation areas, a fitness center, and regulatory conditions for the work of engineering and technical personnel and workers.

The Head of State Emomali Rahmon got acquainted with the production process and assessed the initiative of domestic and foreign entrepreneurs and specialists of the Sughdmetal company in establishing this modern enterprise as a contribution to the implementation of the fourth strategic goal of rapid industrialization of the country and a worthy welcome to the glorious 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

It was reported that the measures taken by the Government of the country and the creative initiatives of entrepreneurs and investors lay the foundation for the development of the sector, and over the past 5 years, the volume of the country’s gross industrial output has increased from 27 billion to 53 billion somoni, which is almost twice as much. During this period, more than 2,040 industrial enterprises and 74 thousand jobs were created in the country. In 2024 alone, 740 new production plants and factories were built, and in total, almost 20 thousand jobs were created in this sector. The average annual growth rate of the sector during this period was ensured at the level of 15 percent.
