DUSHANBE, 22.04.2025 /NIAT Khovar/. Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Faiziddin Kahkhorzoda met with Charles Cormier, Infrastructure Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia in Washington, reports the Ministry of Finance.
The parties discussed issues related to the construction of Rogun hydropower plant , attraction of additional financing, implementation of existing financial agreements and further coordination of efforts by development partners.
Charles Corme characterized the Rogun hydropower plant project as the most important regional project and noted that this hydropower plant will not only contribute to reducing the energy deficit in Tajikistan, but will also ensure the export of environmentally friendly electricity to neighboring countries.
In turn, the Minister of Finance expressed his gratitude to the World Bank for its continuous support and significant contribution to the promotion of the Rogun HPP project, and confirmed the readiness of the Ministry to strengthen cooperation and effective implementation of financial agreements.
