On April 15, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honourable Emomali Rahmon, sent a telegram of condolences to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Honourable Anwar Ibrahim, which reads:
«Your Excellency,
We received with great sadness the news of the death of the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mr. Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
The deceased, with his fruitful activities as a political and public figure, earned fame and high authority within the country and abroad.
We appreciate the contribution of Mr. Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to the strengthening and expansion of Tajik-Malaysian relations of friendship and multifaceted cooperation, and respect his personality.
In connection with this grave loss, I express to you and the brotherly people of Malaysia our sincere condolences and words of sympathy, and I wish the family and friends of the deceased good patience.”
