«Your Excellency,
We were deeply saddened by the news of the demise of His Holiness Pope Francis.
The deceased, with his extensive activity as a great Pontiff, made a significant contribution to world affairs and gained fame throughout the world with his creative initiatives and actions. We recognize and appreciate his meritorious services in strengthening dialogue between civilizations and the comprehensive implementation of principles of peace and stability, tolerance and common consent in every respect.
At the same time, expressing my good impression of the meeting with His Holiness in the Vatican last year, I would like to recall his continuous efforts to strengthen and expand the good relations between Tajikistan and the Holy See.
In connection with this great tragedy, I express my sincere condolences and sympathy to all the relatives and friends of the deceased and to the followers of the Catholic Church.”
